Municipal Alliance

Hunterdon County Municipal Alliance Program

The creation of the Municipal Alliance program was based on the understanding that the cooperation and active participation of all communities in the State is necessary to achieve the goal of reducing alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse. The goal of the Municipal Alliance program is to develop a statewide network of community-based coalitions, under the authority of municipal government, to identify, plan and implement alcoholism and drug abuse prevention and public awareness programs.

Over the past 18 years, the Alliance program has successfully united New Jersey’s municipalities in a comprehensive and coordinated network of community-based prevention programs. The Alliance offers school children an array of prevention services which include: DARE, Projection Graduation, Peer Leadership and Peer Mediation Programs, Forest Friends, Insight Program, Prehistoric Pals, Red Ribbon Activities, the Great Crate Race, as well as Senior Citizen Programs and other county-wide programs.

The North Hunterdon Municipal Alliance (NHMA) is currently looking for parent and/or community volunteers to represent Bethlehem Township. The NHMA meets once a month on the third Thursday at North Hunterdon High School. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Mrs. Jeter (kjeter@btschools.org) for more information.
